Both major parties_shirking responsibility I am a Libertarian, and the last few elections I have voted Republican because I felt I had to vote for the lesser of two evils. But I have come to the realization that the lesser of two evils is still evil.
Therefore, I will not vote for George W. Bush this year, and I most certainly will not vote for John Kerry. This year, I will vote my conscience.
I am sick and tired of politicians and their power trips, promising everything to everybody. Our Founding Fathers must be spinning in their graves with disgust at what has become of this country. Whatever happened to individual liberty and individual responsibility?
With each new administration come more and more government programs that don't work, and when they see a program not working, they think they can just pour more money into it to fix it. Why do we give billions of dollars to any two-bit country with its hand out? Why do we send our children to fight other people's wars? Who made us the policeman for the world? It has only brought animosity and mistrust.
This year, I will only vote for the candidate who promises to return this country to a constitutionally limited government that will live within its budget, not interfere with the internal policies of other countries and will use our military to protect this country.
The Democrats and Republicans have only proven that there is no difference between them. Each election they claim they will change things for the better, but I have only seen the same thing from each party - high taxes, government waste and broken promises.
